That’s ideal, in honor of Sheryl Lee Ralph’s Sept. 12 Emmy win, Beyoncé congratulated the actress in a quite dreamy way. In a video posted to Instagram, Ralph shook her head in disbelief as she received a bouquet of flowers from the singer with a sweet be aware.
“To the first Dreamgirl, sending you a attractive congratulations,” Ralph read through from the card Sept. 17. “All my love, Beyoncé.”
Ralph captioned the touching video clip with the lyrics to “Dreamgirls,” creating, “Each individual just one has their have special aspiration and all your desires can occur real. The two share an more-unique link: Ralph originated the job of Deena Jones in Dreamgirls’ 1981 Broadway debut — the identical part that Beyoncé would engage in in the 2006 filmed model of the musical. Ralph ultimately nabbed a Tony nomination for the purpose.

And Beyoncé was not the only Dreamgirl to congratulate Ralph on her gain: Jennifer Hudson had the “Abbott Elementary” actress as a guest on her show Sept. 20, wherever the two gave a lesson to the audience on how to great the Dreamgirls sway.
“And guess what?” Ralph claimed after their overall performance, quoting the “Dreamgirls” lyrics. “I will be there.”
Hudson, who starred in Dreamgirls alongside Beyoncé, could not enable but pinch herself as she danced alongside the Emmy winner.
“Oh my God, I are not able to think I just acquired to have that second with you,” Hudson responded. “That was a dream.”
Ralph turned the 2nd Black female to get the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy series for her job as the superior-strung veteran instructor Barbara Howard on ABC’s “Abbott Elementary.” Through her acceptance speech, Ralph spontaneously broke out into tune, belting out poignant lyrics from Dianne Reeves’ 1994 song “Endangered Species.”
