“SNL,” how do you like them apples?
Matt Damon will take the stage as host of “Saturday Night Live” this week alongside musical guest Noah Kahan, making for a very New England penultimate episode of the show’s 51st season.
Damon is one of three hosts helping to close out the season in May. Last week, Olivia Rodrigo took on double duty as both host and musical guest, and the last episode on May 16 will feature “SNL” vet Will Ferrell as host and Sir Paul McCartney as musical guest.
This will be the Boston native’s third time hosting.
Damon first hosted in 2002 to promote his role in “The Bourne Identity.” He last hosted in 2018, starring in the well-loved “Best Christmas Ever” sketch, and returned to Studio 8H in 2024 for a cameo in Kristen Wiig’s 5-timers monologue.
In a preview with Sarah Sherman and Jeremy Culhane, Damon went back to his “Good Will Hunting” roots, feverishly attempting to solve the formula for the “perfect sketch.”
The 55-year-old is flexing his comedic chops in anticipation of a far more serious feature coming this July: his role as Odysseus in Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of Homer’s “The Odyssey.” Damon will star alongside Anne Hathaway and Tom Holland in the drama hitting theaters July 17.
Kahan, the Grammy-nominated singer and fellow Red Sox fan hailing from Vermont, is on the show to promote his new album “The Great Divide.” This will be his second appearance as musical guest.
New episodes of “Saturday Night Live” air at 11:30 ET/10:30 CT/8:30 PT on NBC and Peacock, streaming next-day on Peacock.
Ben Affleck is reacting to Matt Damon’s recent revelation. Damon revealed his wife, Luciana Barroso, originally thought Affleck was cute on “Good Will Hunting.”
