Richard Roundtree, a Hollywood icon who played John Shaft in the 1971 introduction to the “Shaft” movie franchise, has died following a fight with cancer at age 81.
His supervisor, Patrick McMinn of McMinn Administration and Artists & Reps Agency, verified his passing in a statement. He claimed Roundtree had pancreatic most cancers and died Tuesday afternoon.
His household was at his side, McMinn claimed.
“Artists & Representatives Company mourns the reduction of our mate and client Richard Roundtree,” he claimed.
Though it was not his trigger of death, Roundtree was also a very well-regarded breast most cancers survivor. He was diagnosed in 1993, and all over his survival he advocated for better breast most cancers recognition amid adult men.
