The 'Mormon Wives' are headed west. New spinoff and cast announced

There’s a new group of Mormon Wives and they’re headed west.

During Hulu’s Get Real event on April 22, “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” stars Miranda Hope, Layla Taylor, Mayci Neeley and Jessi Draper announced that the franchise is expanding with “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County.”

They also announced the new cast, which includes Neeley’s sister, McCall DaPron. Also a part of “Orange County” are Aspyn Ovard, Bobbi Althoff, Avery Woods, Salomé Andrea, Chandler Higginson, Ashleigh Pease and Madison Bontempo.

The new cast expressed their excitement to show audiences a look inside their lives, with one of them saying, “We are thrilled to be part of the franchise, and we are so looking forward to giving you all a little taste of how the West Coast lives.”

The original “Mormon Wives” stars then treated the new cast members with their own dirty soda flavor.

The new installment of “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” is set to debut on Hulu later this year.

The news comes after filming for Season 5 of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” is resuming, a source with knowledge of the situation told NBC News April 21. Production of the Hulu reality series was put on hold amid domestic violence allegations involving star Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen.

During the Get Real event, McWhorter said that “MomTok will survive,” confirming that the new season is still on its way.

It was not immediately clear if Paul and Mortensen would be involved in the upcoming season. While Mortensen did not immediately respond to a phone call and text message seeking comment, she has responded to Instagram posts suggesting otherwise. Paul could not immediately be reached for comment.
