(AP) — The Tampa Bay Lightning suspended defenseman Ian Cole pending an investigation into allegations created on social media that he sexually abused a girl when she was a insignificant.
The Lightning claimed Sunday evening they have been entirely cooperating with the NHL on an investigation and were creating the conclusion to suspend Cole until eventually they obtain additional information.
“Our firm will take these allegations very critically,” the staff said in a statement.
Deputy Commissioner Monthly bill Daly told The Related Press before Sunday the league experienced launched an investigation. Daly additional the league had no prior knowledge of the allegations till they had been posted on social media.
Cole’s agent did not quickly respond to a concept in search of remark.
Cole is a 33-12 months-previous veteran actively playing with his seventh group.
