Rapper Kodak Black arrested on drug trafficking charge in Central Florida, court records show



South Florida rapper Kodak Black has been arrested on drug trafficking charges in the Orlando area, according to court documents.

Rapper Kodak Black, whose real name is Bill Kapri and was born and raised in South Florida, was arrested on a felony drug trafficking charge in Orange County.

Black, whose real name is Bill Kapri, was arrested by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office on a felony charge of trafficking MDMA, according to court records obtained by CBS News Miami.

He’s currently being held in jail without bond pending a court hearing, according to the court documents.

Kapri, 28, was born and raised in Pompano Beach in Broward County. He was honored by the city of Pompano Beach with a key to the city back in July 2025 for efforts that city leaders said have touched thousands of lives.

The city said at the time that he had donated air conditioning units to families during sweltering Florida summers, he distributed hundreds of turkeys during the holidays and had regularly provided Christmas gifts and bicycles to local children.
