As “Bridgerton” fans wait for the arrival of Season 4 after a nearly two-year break, they are already getting information about what they can expect from future seasons.
At the Season 4 red carpet premiere, held in Paris, France, on Jan. 14, “Bridgerton” showrunner Jess Brownell subtly revealed the leads for Seasons 5 and 6.
At the premiere, Brownell wore a mauve suit with white pocket squares embroidered with an “E” and an “F.”
“I would say both characters with the initials on my pocket squares will get seasons in 5 and 6,” Brownell told Deadline on the red carpet.
(The Bridgerton children are famously named in alphabetical order, so the “E” refers to Eloise, played by Claudia Jessie, and the “F,” Francesca, played by Hannah Dodd.)

But there was a twist.
“In what order? I can’t say,” Brownell added, referring to which of the already renewed Seasons 5 and 6 will correspond to which character.
Brownell’s news comes a couple weeks before the premiere of Season 4, which will be split into two halves. The first part will be released on Netflix Jan. 29, and the second part will follow on Feb. 26.
Season 4 will follow Benedict, played by Luke Thompson, and his love story with newcomer to the Ton, Sophie Baek, portrayed by Yerin Ha. The trailer for Season 4 shows Benedict and Sophie meeting at a masquerade ball and spending a magical evening dancing all night long. But when the clock runs out, Sophie dashes off, leaving only a glove as a clue to her true identity.
The new season appears to have a “Cinderella”-esque plot as Benedict attempts to track down the owner of the glove.
The trailer also includes glimpses of Eloise and Francesca.
Last season, Francesca married John Stirling (Victor Alli), but sparks seemed to fly between her and John’s cousin, Michaela (Masali Baduza), from the moment they met. Season 3 ended with Francesca, John and Michaela all heading off to his estate in Scotland. Eloise had also decided to tag along.
Eloise’s storyline hasn’t involved much romance since Season 2. She had a brief flirtation with a printing shop worker named Theo Sharpe (Calam Lynch), but the character has not appeared in recent seasons.
As far as the rest of the cast expected in Season 4, Netflix’s Tudum has confirmed that Jonathan Bailey’s Anthony Bridgerton, Simone Ashley’s Kate Bridgerton, Adjoa Andoh’s Lady Danbury, Ruth Gemmell’s Violet Bridgerton, Golda Rosheuvel’s Queen Charlotte, Nicola Coughlan’s Penelope Bridgerton, Luke Newton’s Colin Bridgerton and more beloved characters will be featured in the new season.
