Venus Williams has scored a love match, and it’s off the court. The tennis star has tied the knot twice in 2025 to husband Andrea Preti.
The pair initially got married in Ischia, Italy on Sept. 18 and then held a second wedding in a courthouse ceremony last weekend in Palm Beach, Florida.
“We had this dream to do our wedding in Italy,” Williams told Vogue. “But we didn’t have enough time to do the paperwork — because I’m a foreigner, it can take about eight months. So we decided to have a second wedding.”
The couple first met at the Gucci show during Milan Fashion Week in 2024.
“I saw V and wanted to introduce myself,” Preti told Vogue. “She was on the sofa with her friends and family. I told her, ‘You’re so beautiful,’ and then she started speaking with me in Italian. We had a little talk, and I asked if she wanted a drink. I went to the bar to get something, and her sister Lyn came to me and said, ‘Do you mind if we start a WhatsApp conversation? I think my sister likes you.’”
The relationship took off from there, with them meeting up in England. Williams quickly realized he was the man for her.
“We wanted to be discreet at the time, but he really took care of me,” she told Vogue. “After our dates in London, I just knew I was going to marry him. People always say they just know, and I just knew.”
On July 22 of this year, following her first singles match in more than a year, Williams revealed that she was engaged to the former actor and model.
While speaking to WTA following her DC Open singles match, the tennis star, who sported a diamond ring on her left finger, called Preti her fiancé.
“My fiancé is here and he really encouraged me to keep playing,” she explained, noting it was the first time Preti had seen her play.
Williams made her first public appearance with Preti in 2024. There’s plenty to learn about the man who won big in the tennis star’s heart.
Read on to learn all about Andre Preti.
He’s originally from Denmark
Andrea Preti was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, on June 6, 1988, according to his IMDB page, making him 37 years old.
He’s lived in Italy
As a teenager, Preti moved with his family to Italy, where he was first introduced to the world of fashion, per his IMDB page.
He’s a former model
While living in Italy, Preti decided to pursue modeling full-time and eventually became a familiar face in the modeling industry.
In an interview with Affashionate.com, Preti shared that his first modeling job was for Gucci. “It was a presentation that involved boutiques all over Italy,” he explained.
During his career, he walked the runway for John Richmond at Milan Fashion Week for both the Spring/Summer 2013 and Autumn/Winter 2013 collections.
Still, Preti has said in the past that modeling wasn’t his original aim. Speaking to Affashionate.com, he explained that it was his parents who urged him to consider the catwalk.
“I never dreamed of doing fashion. My parents push me to do that,” he explained. “In the beginning, I went to several agencies showing my photos, but they were so bad that I was not even considered. Then my father let me introduce myself to Domenico Zambelli, he carried me by Bruno, from the D Management, who told me these words: ‘The pictures are disgusting, but I believe in you.’ And from there it all started. However, I owe it all to Domenico.”
Preti has modeled for top fashion houses like Dolce & Gabbana, Moncler, and Corneliani.
Now, a decade later, the actor remains tied to the fashion world, having attended the Gucci Men’s Spring/ Summer 2025 show in Milan in June 2024, where he was spotted sitting in the front row at the event. He often posts about some of the campaigns he’s worked on, such as collaborating with Tommy Hilfiger in Florence, Italy.
He studied acting in New York
On the heels of his modeling success, Preti relocated to New York City to attend the Susan Baston Academy, where he trained to become a professional actor.
He’s an actor and producer
Preti’s IMDb page notes that he has worked in film, television, and commercials, and has starred in various projects, as well as taken on roles as a producer.
Some of his projects include “One More Day” (2015), “Detective per Caso” (2018), “My Beloved Enemy” (2018), which he also produced, “Girls to Buy” (2021), “Temptation” (2023), and a 2021 television series titled “A Professor.”
He and Venus Williams were spotted together in 2024
The couple were seen enjoying each other’s company during a trip to Nerano, Italy along the Amalfi Coast back in July 2024, according to People. The two caught rays and attention while appearing happy on a boat ride.
Their love language
While they have kept much of their relationship private, Williams and Preti’s social media interactions offer a glimpse into their chemistry and connection.
In June, Preti offered a glimpse into their multilingual banter when he shared a promotional post from a Tommy Hilfiger modeling campaign on Instagram.
The post included a carousel of photos of the actor modeling clothing for the brand. In the comments section of the post, Williams wrote “le mien,” French for “mine.” Preti replied with “si,” the Italian word for “yes.”
Venus confirmed her engagement to Preti in July 2025
In February 2025, Williams and Preti set off rumors of their engagement when the tennis star was seen in Rome wearing a diamond ring on her engagement finger.
At the time, People obtained photos of Williams and Preti having a PDA moment outside. The outlet also zoomed in on a photo of Williams wearing a diamond ring during a training session. Despite all signs pointing to an engagement, neither had publicly confirmed that they were gearing up to tie the knot.
On July 22, the tennis star confirmed her engagement to the actor after her Mubadala Citi DC Open singles match.
“My fiancé is here and he really encouraged me to keep playing,” Williams said during an interview with WTA after her match in which she spoke about his support of her and the sport.
“There were so many times where I just wanted to coast and kind of chill,” she said during the interview. “Do you know how hard it is to play tennis? You guys don’t know how much work goes into this, like it’s 9 to 5 except you’re running the whole time, lifting weights and just like dying and then you repeat it the next day.”
“So he encouraged me to get through this, and it’s wonderful to be here. He’s never seen me play,” she added.
