The owner of a waterfront Venetian Islands estate rented the property out for $200,000 a month, setting a record for rentals across Miami-Dade County this year.
The 9,350-square-foot mansion at 25 East Rivo Alto Drive in Miami Beach was rented for its asking price of over $21 per square foot, according to the listing. Property records show a Delaware LLC owns the seven-bedroom, seven-bathroom home. The company, Rivo Alto LLC, paid $31.5 million for the property in 2022.
Serhant’s Mariana Niro was the listing agent, and Compass agents Joanna Jimenez and Michelle Cardenas represented the tenant. Niro did not immediately respond to a request for comment, and a Compass spokesperson declined to name the tenant.
The second-most expensive rental on the Multiple Listing Service this year was another Venetian Islands home that went for $160,000 a month.
The two-story house was built in 2014 on a 0.3-acre lot. It has 100 feet of water frontage, a pool, hot tub, koi pond and rooftop terrace, according to the listing. It was listed furnished, with furnishings by Artefacto. It includes a chef’s kitchen with a wine cellar, gas fire pits, an outdoor kitchen with a pizza oven and a master suite, according to a cached version of a listing for the property.
Ultra-wealthy buyers and renters are increasingly seeking privacy. Though the Venetian Islands are public, the home is gated, according to the listing.
The property is the highest-priced rental recorded on the MLS, it’s not the most expensive property listed for rent. At the top is the nearly 11,000-square-foot, six-bedroom, seven-and-a-half-bathroom home at 1510 West 25th Street on the guard-gated Sunset Islands in Miami Beach. Italian businessman Gianluca Vacchi owns the waterfront home, which is listed for rent with Douglas Elliman’s Dina Goldentayer asking $475,000 a month, or $43 per square foot. The second most expensive rental listing in Miami-Dade is the 8,200-square-foot, six-bedroom, six-and-a-half-bathroom home at 440 South Mashta Drive in Key Biscayne. The waterfront mansion is asking $433,000 a month, almost $53 per square foot, with Gambino Real Estate’s Gustavo Gambino, according to the listing.
