Jennifer Love Hewitt looks a bit different this summer.
During the “I Know What You Did Last Summer” premiere at Los Angeles’ United Theater on July 14, the actress traded in her signature brunette hairstyle for a more ginger-toned look.
For her first red carpet appearance since the March 2024 premiere of 9-1-1, the 46-year-old—who shares kids Autumn, 11, Atticus, 10, and Aidan, 3, with husband Brian Hallisay—donned a black ankle-length dress covered in intricate jeweled beading, silver jewelry and a pair of black heels with silver detailing.
After all, the premiere was cause for celebration as Jennifer will join Freddie Prinze Jr. in reprising their roles as Julie James and Ray Bronson, respectively, from the 1997 film of the same name and its 1998 sequel “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.”
“I was hesitant at first,” Jennifer recently told The Hollywood Reporter of her return to the franchise. “I wanted to make sure that she fit into the movie in the right way and that there was a reason for her to come back besides just the ‘90s nostalgia moment.”

“I wanted her part in the movie to matter and for the audience to feel like they were proud of who she has become,” she continued. “I will say that in thinking about it and watching the other movies before filming this new one, [the ending] makes sense.”
And while Jennifer—who took a three-year break from Hollywood after her 2015 exit from “Criminal Minds”—is revisiting some memories from her past, she and Brian previously teased that their eldest has started to take an interest in following in her mother’s footsteps.
“Our big thing with her is, even though my experience as a kid actor was very positive, I think we’ve both sort of said, ‘Stay in school, do that,'” Jennifer told E! News of Autumn in a joint interview last November. “‘Grow up. Wait until you’re a little bit older. Don’t take all of this on quite yet.’”

But that doesn’t mean the 11-year-old hasn’t already gotten a taste of the industry. In fact, she appeared alongside her parents and siblings in “The Holiday Junkie,” which Jennifer directed just last year.
“It’s a different business than when I started,” she continued. “It’s not quite as simple and easy with social media and all of that stuff now. Our hope for her is that she’ll just be a kid.”
