A violent and deadly crash shut down a busy Doral street early Friday morning, and an investigation is now underway to determine what led up to the incident.
Few details have been released, but video from the scene showed a vehicle that was left in pieces after the violent crash.
The crash was reported in the area of 33rd Street and 107th Avenue in Doral around 2:30 a.m., and the area has been shut down to traffic while the investigation continues.
Video showed a large debris field, meaning the vehicle hit several objects before slamming into a tree.
The back half of the vehicle was found next to the tree, while the front half of the vehicle was found a short distance away.
Several evidence markers were also seen on the ground.
It’s unknown how many people were in the vehicle when the crash occurred, but CBS News Miami crews saw a body being placed into a medical examiner’s van at the scene.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
No other information was released.
