'SNL' writer Jimmy Fowlie says his sister is 'no longer alive' after disappearance

Jimmy Fowlie, a writer for NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” said in an Instagram post Wednesday that his sister was “no longer alive” four months after he said she had gone missing.

“The LAPD has informed our family that Christina is no longer alive, and the case has officially transitioned from a missing person to a homicide investigation,” Fowlie wrote on the social media platform.

“Our prayers for her to be found safely have transformed into prayers for the truth to be revealed and for those responsible to be held accountable,” he added.

In a statement, the Los Angeles Police Department appeared to contradict Fowlie’s claim, saying law enforcement officials continue to investigate Christina Downer’s disappearance.

“Robbery-Homicide Division continues to investigate the disappearance of Christina Downer,” an LAPD spokesperson told NBC News. “Although the circumstances of her disappearance are suspicious, Ms. Downer has not been located, and her case has not been reclassified as a homicide.”

“RHD will diligently investigate this case until a resolution can be reached,” the spokesperson added, referring to the robbery-homicide division.

In a Dec. 22 post on Instagram, Fowlie reported that his sister “has been missing and we are worried that she isn’t safe. Her married name is Downer but she may go by Christina Fowlie.”

Fowlie, who has written for “Saturday Night Live” since 2022, co-wrote the viral Domingo sketch featuring cast member Marcello Hernandez, according to Variety. “Saturday Night Live” is broadcast on NBC, which is owned by NBCUniversal, the parent company of NBC News.

He co-wrote the recent Netflix movie “Roommates,” according to the Internet Movie Database. He has also made acting appearances on television shows including FX’s “English Teacher,” HBO Max’s “The Other Two” and ABC’s “The Goldbergs,” according to his IMDb page.
