CHICAGO (AP) — Bryan De La Cruz strike a two-run homer off Adbert Alzolay in the ninth inning, and the Miami Marlins beat the Chicago Cubs 3-2 on Saturday in the opener of a break up doubleheader.
Luis Arraez collected 3 more hits for Miami, which had dropped 4 of 5. Jesús Sánchez and Nick Gordon every single had two hits.
Arraez is batting .347 (17 for 49) in his previous 12 games. He singled with a person out in the ninth, and De La Cruz followed with a travel to left-middle for his fifth homer soon after he also went deep in each individual of his prior two games.
