PEMBROKE PINES — A boy was hospitalized soon after his mom accidentally shot him in the leg, believing he was a residence intruder, early Saturday early morning.
In accordance to Pembroke Pines Law enforcement, officers responded to a household in the space of NW 134th Avenue and NW 9th Street around 1:40 a.m. in regards to a shooting inside of. When officers arrived, they identified a girl and her juvenile son inside of the dwelling.
Additional investigation discovered that the female experienced fallen asleep on her dwelling place couch even though her son went to mattress upstairs in his space previously Friday evening. Law enforcement mentioned that each of them were the only citizens of the property.
When the mother was asleep on the sofa, she was startled awake by a noise in her kitchen area. Fearing that it would be an intruder, she took a gun that she experienced concealed in her purse subsequent to her in the living and went to investigate the supply of the noise.
As she approached the kitchen area, her son simultaneously walked out of the kitchen. As each ended up startled by just about every other’s presence, the mother accidentally fired the gun twice, taking pictures the flooring and her son in his leg. He was then transported to the clinic with non-existence-threatening injuries.
The Investigations Division of Pembroke Pines Police was then contacted to keep on investigating the incident. Police also mentioned that the Office of Youngster Products and services was also contacted.
According to Pembroke Pines Police, there does not show up to be any criminal intent at this time as the investigation carries on.
