DALLAS (AP) — A male who didn’t want his girlfriend to get an abortion fatally shot her during a confrontation in a Dallas parking whole lot, law enforcement explained.
He was jailed on a murder charge as of Friday.
Texas banned abortions just after roughly six weeks of pregnancy in September 2021. But almost all abortions have been halted in Texas because Roe v. Wade was overturned final summer season, apart from in cases of healthcare crisis.
Gabriella Gonzalez, 26, was with her boyfriend, 22-12 months-previous Harold Thompson, on Wednesday when he attempted to set her in a chokehold, in accordance to an arrest warrant affidavit. She experienced returned the night in advance of from Colorado, in which she had gone to get an abortion.

The affidavit from March does not specifically title Gonzalez as the individual who was assaulted. The lady “reiterated that she is frightened of the suspect due to the fact he experienced made threats to harm her spouse and children and her children,” according to the affidavit.
