The 34th GLAAD Media Awards showcased a surprise Jennifer Coolidge physical appearance, honors for Lousy Bunny and Christina Aguilera and, of study course, jokes about Donald Trump’s indictment — the news of which broke just several hours in advance of Thursday’s clearly show.
Coolidge was greeted with a standing ovation as she opened the demonstrate at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. The star of “The White Lotus” was afterwards surprised herself when her “Best in Show” co-star Jane Lynch appeared onstage beside her.
The GLAAD Media Awards clearly show, intended to honor “fair, exact and inclusive illustration of LGBTQ people and difficulties,” will land on Hulu on April 12. The host, comedian Margaret Cho, cheered the previous president’s indictment.
“What a wonderful way to celebrate that,” Cho explained on the red carpet ahead of the event. “I feel it is just so unbelievable. I never thought I would see it happen. I’m so glad, as well. And I cannot wait around to see how it goes down.”

Christina Aguilera was presented with the Advocate for Adjust award by Club Q survivor Michael Anderson, a bartender at the preferred Colorado Springs nightclub the evening of the deadly shooting in November 2022. He later designed headlines immediately after quoting Aguilera’s lyrics when he testified ahead of the U.S. Property Oversight Committee on violence against the LGBTQ+ group.
On Thursday, Anderson quoted Aguilera’s lyrics after yet again in the course of his introduction of the pop star.
The clearly show also paid out tribute to the late Leslie Jordan with a general performance from region songs star Orville Peck. Peck’s effectiveness was launched by actor Cheyenne Jackson, who reminisced about Jordan’s time on the set of “American Horror Tale.”
Cheers erupted when Ricky Martin took the phase to current Terrible Bunny with the Vanguard Award for his LGBTQ+ allyship. The reggaeton artist requested the crowd in English if he could give his acceptance speech in Spanish, which was fulfilled with an enthusiastic “yes” from the group.

Gabrielle Union offered her “The Inspection” co-star Jeremy Pope with the Stephen F. Kolzak award for promoting LGBTQ+ visibility and acceptance.
“I performed Jeremy’s mother in the film, and we created an extremely near bond,” Union reported. “And, you know, I know a very little a little something about increasing a Black queer baby in this earth and all I preferred to do was advocate for Jeremy in every way that I could. I signify, his plain abilities, his innocence, his peace, his peace and his quite soul. I desired to secure it.”
