MIAMI – A male has been taken into custody Tuesday night soon after remaining in a standoff with Pembroke Pines police. 

It took place after his vehicle ended up partly submerged in a canal in the region of Sheridan Road and 184th Avenue.

The driver experienced been sitting in a vehicle even though police had their guns drawn near the automobile.

Images from Chopper 4 confirmed as the person was taken from the water’s edge into a police cruiser. 

Authorities reported, “the specific is properly detained and we will be transporting them to a close by healthcare facility for healthcare assessment.”

Police experienced closed off the intersection nearest to the scene, as motorists have been urged to avoid the location.   

It is not apparent how the vehicle finished up in the canal, but skid marks could be witnessed alongside the grass.

The investigation is ongoing.
