TALLAHASSEE — The Florida Police Chiefs Association on Monday supported proposals that would let persons to have firearms with out concealed-weapons licenses, joining the Florida Sheriffs Association in backing the legislation.
“Liable gun ownership doesn’t start off with the issuance of a governing administration allow,” Fellsmere Police Chief Keith Touchberry, president of the law enforcement chiefs association, claimed in a ready statement. “It commences with education in how to properly take care of, have, use and keep a weapon, and it carries on with keeping those people competencies even though complying with all applicable community, condition and federal rules and restrictions.
