Boy, 7, leaves hospital months after crash killed mom

MIAMI – The boy whose mother was killed in a deadly crash in Miramar a week prior to Xmas is now out of the clinic.

Jacob, 7, rode a toy motor vehicle by the halls of Joe DiMaggio Children’s Medical center Wednesday as he reported goodbye to the people who nursed him back to health and fitness.

“He arrived to us in bad form. I failed to know if he was going to survive,” Pediatric Surgeon Dr. Tamar Levine reported.

Physicians say he experienced a mind injuries, many leg and pelvic fractures and several organ injuries in his liver, heart and kidneys as a result of a  crash in Miramar on December 19th.

Dr. Allan Greissman states Jacob was a person of the worst trauma scenarios he has viewed in 30 several years.

“From his head to his toe, each and every organ was affected,” Dr. Greissman explained. “He was in a traumatic coma. We didn’t know if he would at any time wake up.”

But Jacob did wake up and went on to expend more than a thirty day period in the ICU. He is also been through many several hours of bodily, occupational and speech remedy.

Unfortunately, Jacob’s mother, 30-calendar year-outdated Cristina Hernandez did not survive the crash.

“It is been a tough journey for me. The working day I walked in here I was a wreck,” stated Jacob’s father Anthony Estrada. “I had just missing my wife in the incident so I was like, ‘Please never consider this little one, my boy away from me’.”

Estrada reported his son was looking forward to observing his dog and sleeping in his personal bed.

He is so grateful to the personnel at Joe DiMaggio Kid’s Healthcare facility for building that feasible.

“I am going to endlessly be in your debt. You gave me the probability to provide my boy dwelling like I questioned, like I prayed for,” Estrada stated. “You guys are family members of mine for the rest of our everyday living.”

Police say a 16-12 months-outdated boy devoid of a license was driving the car that crashed into Jacob and his mother.

The teen and his father, Jose Miguel Bravo de la Torre, have since been arrested and charged.
