Male accused of tossing kittens from going auto in the Keys

MIAMI – A 29-yr-previous Islamorada man is accused of tossing two kittens from a going car or truck on U.S. 1.

Diego Torres Ruiz, who was arrested in Tavernier, has been charged with two counts of animal cruelty.

“I take these incidents extremely seriously and I am satisfied to report an arrest was created in this circumstance,” stated Monroe County Sheriff Rick Ramsay.

Listed here is what Monroe deputies reported transpired:

“On Nov. 28, a motorist reported looking at two kittens tumble from a northbound Hyundai Santa Fe close to Mile Marker 87 leading to motor vehicles to swerve to prevent hitting them. The witness presented the tag number and description of the suspect motor vehicle. The suspect, later identified as Ruiz, was stopped soon thereafter. He denied figuring out nearly anything about the kittens.”

A single kitten was identified useless and the other a single was later found and taken to MarrVelous Pet Rescues in Key Largo with non-everyday living-threatening injuries.

Authorities explained one witness adopted the kitten.
