MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Fort Lauderdale police chief is out of a job.
This comes after an investigation into employee complaints.

In a statement released a short time ago, the city of Fort Lauderdale said it was in the city’s best interest to separate employment with Larry Scirotto.

Luis Alvarez has been named as acting chief.

Scirotto was chosen to head the more than 700-member department back in August of 2021.
