MIAMI — At minimum 60 folks have been arrested so significantly as component of Miami-Dade Police’s security initiative to crack down on the illegal use of ATVs, bikes and grime bikes as component of “Wheels Up, Guns Down” rides during Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend.
On Friday, MDPD started its MLK Weekend Security Initiative to make absolutely sure that Miami-Dade streets remain protected and absolutely everyone follows the rules of the highway through the once-a-year celebration that honors a slain biker in Philadelphia nationwide.
Regulation enforcement officers with MDPD’s Homeland Stability Bureau, Precedence Response Group and Motors Device, and the Florida Highway Patrol arrested dozens of men and women on the initiative’s 1st working day, the department mentioned.
In accordance to MDPD, the overall initiative has so significantly produced:
- 61 arrests
- 5 firearms impounded
- 363 citations issued
- 21 cars impounded
- 7 stolen vehicles recovered
“These great outcomes would not have been achievable with no the guidance of our neighborhood law enforcement companions,” MDPD stated. “We will go on to have Zero Tolerance for any one breaking traffic legal guidelines and staying reckless in our county.”
