BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. — People of a southwest Florida community ended up startled when they noticed a 61-pound panther in their group this 7 days.
Angie and DJ Ohl were sitting within their home in the Bonita Countrywide community in Bonita Springs Wednesday morning when they saw what seemed like a criminal offense scene in their driveway
“All of a sudden neighbors and law enforcement began yelling for me to near the door and operate back again in the dwelling,” said Ohl.
Minor did they know a unusual Florida panther was sleeping in their bushes.
“My spouse . . . I think she opened the gate and did not know it was sitting down appropriate there,” DJ Ohl claimed. “She was possibly dangerously near to it and did not even know it.”
A single of the Ohl’s neighbors says he was on a walk when he spotted the panther. He termed 911 and the Florida Wildlife Fee.
“They came up listed here and had been in a position to tranquilize it and it ran throughout the road and they acquired it they pulled it up with a tarp more than that way and took it away,” said Ohl.
Wildlife specialists say there are less than 200 Florida panthers alive today.
The FWC says the final confirmed Florida panther sighting in Bonita Springs was in 2015.

The Florida panther is again in its normal habitat.
FWC states the panther is 61 lbs . and healthy.
