Denny Laine, British musician who co-launched The Moody Blues and Paul McCartney&#039s Wings, dies at 79


Denny Laine, the British star musician who co-founded the iconic rock bands The Moody Blues and Paul McCartney’s Wings, has died.

He was 79. 

Laine died “peacefully” Tuesday morning at his residence subsequent “health and fitness setbacks” from interstitial lung illness, his wife, Elizabeth Hines, shared on his Facebook page.

“I was at his bedside, keeping his hand as I played his most loved Xmas tunes for him. He’s been singing Xmas tracks the past number of weeks and I continued to participate in Xmas music though he’s been in ICU on a ventilator this earlier week,” she wrote.
