MIAMI – Relentless rain, which began Tuesday and ongoing by Thursday early morning, merged with gusty winds still left flooding and storm problems across South Florida.
In some places of western Broward, Hollywood, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and Miami Springs some streets ended up impassable Thursday morning due to flooding. A cellular dwelling park in around I-595 and Flamingo Street in Davie was inundated with h2o. Flooded circumstances were also reported in the vicinity of Nova Southeastern University and on Griffin Street, east of US 441.
In Pompano Beach, a household on NW 5th Road, east of Powerline Road, had its roof weakened by the rain and winds.
Throughout Broward, trees have been topped by the winds which gusted to 50 mph – 60 mph in the early early morning several hours of Thursday. On Fort Lauderdale Beach front, towering Christmas decorations had been blown around and a range of trees were toppled in the region of NE 9th Street and NE 17th Terrace in Fort Lauderdale. In the 2200 block of NW 18th Terrace in Fort Lauderdale, a massive tree fell onto a truck.
Tree limbs had been also downed on Miami Beach close to Meridian and Flamingo Park. A downed tree blocked a bicycle lane on Ocean Travel. Also on Miami Beach front, flooding impacted Lumus Park.
The heavy winds also destroyed quite a few awnings across the space and contributed to the collapse of a vacant two-story building in Miami that experienced been slated for demolition.
The gusty winds also established a range of power outages across Miami-Dade and Broward, keeping FPL crews hectic by means of the night time and Thursday early morning restoring electrical power to 1000’s of clients.
