MIAMI — A Town of Miami Police officer was arrested for allegedly driving beneath the affect on Halloween.
Miami Police said in an arrest affidavit that Joevanih Sauvagere, 31, was arrested for DUI on the morning of Halloween.
In accordance to the affidavit, a distinctive Miami Law enforcement officer responded to the space of NW 6th Avenue and NW 62nd Street in reference to a possible DUI close to 6:57 a.m. on Halloween. On arrival, they identified a silver Infiniti Q50A struggling with southbound on NW 6th Avenue.
They then spoke with a 2nd officer on the scene, who recommended them that the driver, afterwards discovered as Sauvagere, was detained in the again seat of their law enforcement car or truck. As they arrived to the car or truck and opened the doorway to speak with him, the officer smelled a “really robust odor” of alcoholic beverages from his breath and that he experienced “bloodshot, watery eyes and his eyelids have been droopy.” According to the affidavit, the officer requested that Sauvagere accomplish a sobriety check, but he refused.
