MIAMI – CBS News Miami has been following Marlie Casseus‘s story for pretty much two decades now.
The young lady from Haiti arrived to Miami in 2005 to have a 16-pound tumor taken out from her encounter.
In 2009, we caught up with her all over again, as she ready for a further operation at Jackson Memorial Clinic.
Then in 2016, she returned to JMH to thank the medical professionals and nurses who helped her on her journey.
At that time, she explained to us, “I never have a boyfriend. I wish I had 1, but I really don’t have 1.”
Now in 2023, Marlie has a husband.
On Thursday, she married her longtime pal Billy Wyatt in a smaller ceremony surrounded by relatives in Miramar.
“Very long time. 15,16 many years,” Wyatt claims of his friendship with his now-wife. “Continue to variety of surreal creating up to this moment… Marlie’s been #1 in my heart, my inspiration in what she’s battling. Her power has 100% served me in a large amount of means on my very own own journey.”
Though the celebration was crammed with like and joy, the relatives remains involved about Marlie’s declining wellbeing.
She designed Polyostotic Fibrous Dysplasia as a kid, which triggered the large tumor that left her not able to speak and hardly in a position to breathe.
Right after multiple surgeries above the years, she’s continue to preventing at 31 many years previous.
“Her story displays me what God can do. Her tale reveals me that God’s love is incredibly, pretty real and really like is always with us,” mentioned Dr. Stellecie Casseus, Marlie’s sister.
Stellecie claims she became a doctor so she could support other people right after viewing what her sister has gone by way of. She suggests the household is thrilled about Marlie and Billy’s marriage.
And as for the groom, he’s grateful for every single moment he receives to expend with his new spouse.
“Really like conquers all. I consider she’s an instance of that,” Wyatt explained. “This is like real like. And this is an individual that has that heart that I’m so blessed to be all over and now to be portion of eternally.”
