HOLLYWOOD — A Superior Samaritan who coincidentally was on the Hollywood Broadwalk when the gunfire erupted reported he felt compelled to assist those who were being wounded.
Sean Bennett instructed CBS Information Miami’s Peter D’Oench how he rushed to a 15-calendar year-old boy who experienced been shot in the chest and abdomen.
“All hell broke loose and young children started off scattering and managing. I did what I experienced to do,” Bennett reported.
“I did what anyone would do when you see anyone who is hurt. I applied strain to quit the bleeding and stop the child from hyperventilating and get him to breathe regular right until the cops and paramedics could get there. There was an off-obligation nurse who showed up. I do not have clinical education. I just did what I did.”
“It was sad and stunning to see something like this,” he claimed.
“You often see it on Tv set but hardly ever assume you will be a part of it. These ended up victims just hoping to get pleasure from a holiday getaway weekend. We have to sluggish down the violence and be responsible and build a better stability for individuals who are young.”
Bennett tried using to stop by the victim at the medical center. He was not ready to take a look at him but hopes to do that sometime soon.

“I assumed of my daughter, who is 21, and I thought he is somebody’s youngster and I never want any mother or father to eliminate a child that is valuable to them. I could have been shot by a stray bullet. I know that was a risk, I was fortunate I did not get damage and happy I could assist him,” Bennett said.
He fought back tears as he assumed of the victim.
“I just want to say that I am happy he is pulling by way of,” Bennett stated. “I would notify him I am happy you are ok and if you have to have something I am close to, not too significantly away, just a hop skip and a bounce absent.”
Dr. Andrew Rosenthal credits the work that the Excellent Samaritan did.
“I imagine nowadays an individual who can hold stress and do one thing with the bleeding and who just understands the basic notion of bleeding, this is like the new CPR,” Rosenthal said.
Rosenthal said 9 patients experienced been introduced around 7 p.m. on Monday. 3 patients were being dealt with and produced.
