POMPANO Seaside –– Broward County Sheriff’s investigating after a girl was struck and killed this week.
The incident transpired shortly right before 8:26 a.m. on Monday, near the intersection of SE 3rd Avenue and SE 1st Avenue.
Investigators recognized the girl as 71-calendar year-outdated Edy De Oliveira E. Silva.
Silva was making an attempt to cross SE 1st Avenue when she entered the path of the GMC and was struck, deputies mentioned.
Investigators establish the driver as Brian W. Smith who was described driving a black GMC Sierra Denali pickup truck westbound on SE 3rd Street, approaching the intersection with SE 1st Avenue.
According to the BSO, the sufferer was quickly transported to Broward Health and fitness North, exactly where she underwent emergency operation and died.
Investigators did not say if the driver will be experiencing charges.
