LAKES OF THE 4 SEASONS, Ind. (CBS) — One particular gentleman is dead and his two kids are hospitalized just after a hand grenade exploded in an Indiana dwelling Saturday afternoon.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Business office, sometime just before 6:30 p.m., the family members was at a home in the 3400 block of West Lakeshore Generate exactly where they were being heading by a grandfather’s belongings. They located a hand grenade, somebody pulled the pin on the unit and it detonated.
The father, identified as Bryan Niedert, 47, was identified unresponsive at the scene and was later declared dead.
The man’s two children – a 17-year-aged son, and an 18-year-outdated daughter – have been hospitalized with shrapnel wounds.
The Porter County Bomb Squad was referred to as to secure the scene and establish if any more explosive gadgets ended up existing.
An autopsy is pending at the Lake County Coroner’s Business.
The ages and sexes of the youngsters were at first described differently by authorities.
