Bruce Springsteen may well have a new member of his E Avenue Band — Michelle Obama.
The previous first girl joined the rock icon onstage in the course of his concert April 28 in Barcelona, Spain. She sang the background vocals and jammed on a tambourine along with Springsteen through his effectiveness of “Glory Days.”
The “Becoming” creator done in a purple ensemble with a black blazer overtop. She was all smiles and sang passionately into the mic alongside actor Kate Capshaw and band member Patti Scialfa.
Alfonso Gomis Duyos, @todoestoexiste on Twitter, shared the sweet instant on social media and captioned the video, “Wow there! @MichelleObama giving it all the things” in Spanish.
Michelle Obama and her partner, Barack Obama, were being in Barcelona with Steven Spielberg, who is married to Capshaw, for the Springsteen live performance. According to Reuters, the team frequented some of the city’s well known websites, such as the Sagrada Família basilica and the Picasso museum, before the demonstrate Friday.
Springsteen, Spielberg and Barack Obama also experienced dinner together at the Amar restaurant April 27, in accordance to Reuters.
Springsteen and Barack Obama are longtime buddies. The singer performed at rallies for the then-presidential candidate for the duration of his 2008 campaign. Barack Obama also awarded Springsteen the nation’s maximum honor for civilians, the Presidential Medal of Flexibility, in 2016.
In 2021, the two teamed up to document a podcast together called “Renegades: Born in the United states of america,” in which they reviewed the origins of their friendship, race in the U.S. and fatherhood.
Friday’s live performance will come as Springsteen kicked off his worldwide tour, next a concert in Newark, New Jersey, April 14, which wrapped his U.S. concert series. Springsteen and the E Street Band enjoy up coming April 30 in Barcelona before heading to Dublin, Ireland.
“Glory Days” is just one of the hits from Springsteen’s “Born in the U.S.A.” album, produced in 1984. The tune was just one of seven singles from the album to crack the top rated 10 on the Billboard Very hot 100 chart in 1985.
Michelle Obama wasn’t the only just one to incorporate flair to “Glory Days” in April. Kelly Clarkson and Charles Esten gave the song a nation twang when they executed it jointly during the “Kellyoke” segment of her exhibit April 10.
