Mike Brennan commenced his initial working day on the position as director on Monday, April 10th.

Brennan began his NHC job in 2008 as a senior hurricane expert. He has invested almost all of his 15-year NOAA job at NHC, and for the past yr has served as the performing NHC deputy director. Since 2018, Brennan has been the branch chief of the Hurricane Expert Unit.

Brennan fills the job still left vacant by the departure of Ken Graham, who turned the director of the Countrywide Weather Service in June 2022. Brennan acquired a Bachelor’s in Meteorology, and a Masters and Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science, all from North Carolina State College.
