MIAMI – A Florida female is in jail after law enforcement say she rammed a deputy with a stolen U-Haul truck.
She led authorities on a chase, ending in entrance of a home, waking up the household that lives there.
Right before 4 in the morning Sunday, a license plate reader spotted a stolen U-Haul pickup truck in Royal Palm Seaside.
Deputies arrested the driver, James Boswell. But when deputies were building that arrest, investigators say Ginger Taylor hopped driving the wheel of the stolen decide-up and drove away.
About an hour later, about 3 and a 50 % miles absent from the resort in which this all began, deputies noticed the truck.
At that point, officials say Taylor drove immediately at a deputy, who shot at the U-Haul as she hit him with the automobile.
She was able to travel absent, but investigators later on located out she’d been shot in the leg.
“The truck came in sideways and then fishtailed back again and strike the entrance stop of that truck,” mentioned house owner Carlos Avalos. The pursuit ended in entrance of his dwelling and all the commotion woke up his loved ones.
“The to start with bang that we read, the 1st loud noise, it did not wake me up,” Avalos said. “But what really obtained me absolutely awake was when I heard the officers running towards the back again and yelling instructions and stuff like that. A minimal worry came in and I went all around my home generating confident that anything was Alright with the little ones and all the things in the house.”
Deputies say Taylor was arrested close by and treated for her gunshot wound.
Taylor has since been released from the hospital.
Boswell faces fraud charges and Taylor’s fees include things like aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer and reckless fleeing and eluding.
The deputy was treated for his accidents and is predicted to be ok.
