MIAMI — Investigators with Miami-Dade Fire & Rescue were hoping to ascertain the trigger of a huge blaze that broke out Sunday afternoon at a squander recycling facility in Doral.
No injuries have been noted from the a few-alarm blaze that broke out all around 2:15 p.m. at the Covanta web page, found at NW 70th Road and NW 97th Avenue.

In excess of 50 firefighters responded to the scene to extinguish the blaze, which sent weighty black smoke billowing into the air that was visible for miles.
According to Covanta’s web page, it’s facility in Doral “is an award-successful Squander-to-Electrical power Facility. The Facility is owned by Miami-Dade County and serves county citizens with trusted and sustainable squander management.”
Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava issued a statement inquiring residents who are living in the location to remain indoors if they can.
“I’ve been absolutely briefed by our fireplace, police, and strong squander team on the fireplace transpiring at the county squander-to-energy facility,” she explained. “Both of those our Miami-Dade Hearth and Miami-Dade Police workers have responded to the blaze and will go on to keep an eye on the scenario above the coming hrs. Out of an abundance of warning, we are asking that all residents who live in the region continue being indoors and retain their windows shut.”
