MIAMI – The Miami-Dade law enforcement department’s ongoing crackdown on illegal drag racing has nabbed a fourth man or woman.
Kai Campbell, 23, faces 19 counts of facilitating drag racing on a freeway.
Campbell is accused of making use of an application to promote “takeover events” in Miami-Dade and other Florida counties. In chat messages, he would send associates addresses and destinations for them to meet up with and “participate in the events including blocking intersections from general public use and crisis car obtain, so that cars and trucks can carry out drifting, donuts and other stunts without the need of interruption,” according to law enforcement.
When legislation enforcement arrived, the teams would scatter and meet up with up at a further area Campbell reportedly posted on the application.
Law enforcement say after his arrest, Campbell admitted to producing the chat group and organizing events.
