MIAMI – A 15-year-aged has pleaded “not guilty” in a crime spree that, the Broward Sheriff’s Office environment says, led to the demise of a mother of a few.

Jah-Kobe Bessent has been officially billed as an grownup and faces 24 costs, like Manslaughter, Vehicular Homicide, and Leaving the scene of a crash.

Deputies say on August 28th, 2022, Bessent and a 13-yr-outdated broke into a Fort Lauderdale residence, stole the homeowner’s Mercedes SUV, and led investigators on a chase.

The teens are accused of producing the fatal crash that killed 35-calendar year-old Maria Telez-Valderrabano.

The victim’s sister, Emily Feria, was in court Tuesday for the arraignment. She stated she has been seeking to be powerful for her family and belief the process, but her loss weighs seriously on her.

“It really is been tough,” she reported. “I’m thoroughly stressed. I am losing all my thoughts now.”

It was in November prosecutors moved to cost Bessent as an adult.
