Intelligent COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) — New aspects about the demise of Athena Strand were discovered on Thursday right after authorities released arrest warrants for her accused killer Tanner Horner.
In accordance to the affidavit, Horner was delivering a package made up of a Christmas gift to Athena’s household when he allegedly strike her with his Fedex truck as he backed out of the driveway.
Horner advised investigators that Athena was not seriously injured immediately after he allegedly struck her, but that he “panicked” and took Athena into his van. Online video from inside of the truck showed Horner speaking to Athena, and he later instructed detectives that she even instructed him her identify.
Apprehensive that Athena would convey to her father about being hit by the truck, Horner allegedly experimented with to kill Athena by breaking her neck. After he was not able to do so, he strangled her with his bare hands in the back again of the FedEx truck.
He then allegedly dumped Athena into a human body of h2o off of CR 4668. Horner at some point led investigators to the place just after they questioned if he would be keen to get them there.
Horner has been charged with capital murder and aggravated kidnapping in the 7-yr-previous girl’s loss of life. If convicted, he faces the dying penalty.
