TAMPA – Tampa’s law enforcement main is now on administrative go away just after apparently attempting to use her badge to get out of a site visitors ticket.
Main Mary O’Connor was a passenger in a golfing cart when a deputy in Oldsmar stopped them for not owning tags.
The deputy enable her go without the need of a citation right after this trade that was captured on bodycam:
DEPUTY JACOB: “Fantastic evening… I’m Deputy Jacoby for the sheriff’s office environment. Stopped you because you driving a tag, uh, unregistered car or truck with no tags on it on the roadway?”
KEITH O’CONNOR: “Yeah, we had been we went to the club, it was closed so we went about, so we went above and picked up some…”
MARY O’CONNOR: “Is your digital camera on? I am the law enforcement main in Tampa.
DEPUTY JACOB: “Oh, how you undertaking?”
MARY O’CONNOR: “I’m executing good… I am hoping that you just let us go tonight.”
Jacoby goes on to say there is “a large amount of difficulties with the golfing carting about here” before sooner or later permitting them go.
Mary O’Connor has apologized for the incident saying, “I recognize how my handling of this matter could be seen as inappropriate.”
Tampa Mayor Jane Castor reported, “We keep absolutely everyone accountable, no subject their position, and this actions was unacceptable. Main O’Connor will go via the owing process and experience acceptable willpower.”
