MIAMI (AP) — NFL free agent Odell Beckham Jr. was eliminated by police from an aircraft just before takeoff at Miami International Airport after officers explained he failed to react to requests to buckle his seatbelt and appeared to be unconscious, law enforcement and airline officials said Sunday.
“Fearing that Mr. Beckham was very seriously unwell, and that his problem would worsen via the envisioned 5 hour flight, (flight crew members) called for law enforcement and hearth rescue,” Miami Dade Law enforcement Officer Luis Sierra claimed in a assertion pursuing the 9:30 a.m. Sunday incident.
“As they tried using to wake (Beckham) to fasten his seat belt, he appeared to be coming in and out of consciousness,” the statement mentioned.
American Airways consultant Alfredo Garduno verified that flight 1228 to Los Angeles returned to the gate right before takeoff “due to a purchaser failing to observe crew members’ recommendations and refusing to fasten their seat belt.”
Carlos Gauna, a passenger in enterprise class, mentioned he regarded Beckham prior to boarding the flight and later applied his cellphone camera to document him walking via the airport terminal with law enforcement. He mentioned Beckham experienced been seated in initially class.
