Hollywood Broadwalk clear up immediately after Nicole surge, King Tides built a mess

FORT LAUDERDALE – King Tides paired with Hurricane Nicole storm surge manufactured a mess on Hollywood Beach front.

Rough and soaring surf compelled drinking water and sand up on to the Broadwalk and into the streets.

“It was sheer craziness,” stated Grace Moore.

Moore claimed it was sort of eerie to observe as she took a video of the sand and h2o speeding in, inundating the walkway.

“It was spooky simply because it was nighttime. I was just standing there seeing and all of a sudden a wave arrived up and I had shoes on, I had to operate down the road to stay clear of the wave,” she explained.

Moore, who owns a beachfront company, mentioned she and her mate Linda Murphy went to the Broadwalk early in the morning to see the damage still left guiding.

“It came up here real fast since it was raging, it was going genuinely fast,” stated Murphy.

The two claimed King Tides are to blame but Nicole packed an excess punch.

“It was just deluging the Broadwalk with a large amount of stuff,” explained Moore.

That “things” involved floating trash cans, toppled-over benches, and other particles.

Thursday morning the clear up got underway, bulldozers had been introduced in to distinct the sand from the walkway.

Both Moore and Murphy agreed that everything will be alright.

“The backhoes will occur in and we will just force all the sand again once more. It should be alright, the sunshine is coming out,” claimed Murphy.
