Lethal strike-and-operate underneath investigation in Pompano Seaside

MIAMI – The Broward Sheriff’s Business office Targeted traffic Homicide Device is investigating a fatal strike-and-operate crash that killed a pedestrian in Pompano Beach front on Thursday.

Authorities said it occurred shortly before 8:30 p.m., as an unidentified vehicle was touring westbound on West Atlantic Boulevard in close proximity to Andrews Avenue and proceeded via the intersection without stopping for the flashing pink signal.

“The pedestrian, who was crossing southbound in the western crosswalk, was struck by that car or truck. The vehicle slowed but did not prevent and ongoing west,” authorities explained.

The preliminary investigation decided that the targeted traffic indicators at the intersection were being malfunctioning, producing the site visitors lights in all four instructions to flash.

The pedestrian was taken to Broward Well being North in which that human being succumbed to their injuries early Friday early morning.

Detectives would like to speak to everyone who witnessed the crash.

Any person with info on the driver or the automobile associated is urged to get hold of BSO Traffic Murder Det. Sean Williams at 954-321-4840, or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-Ideas (8477).
