ORLANDO – A central Florida drop tower amusement park trip from which a 14-calendar year-aged boy fell to his dying in March will be taken down, according to the ride’s operator.
The choice to consider down the 430-foot-tall Orlando FreeFall tower and journey at ICON Park outdoors Orlando was made because of Tyre Sampson‘s March 24 dying, the operator stated in an on-line statement.
The experience, which had opened only months prior to Tyre’s loss of life, has been closed since. No timeline for using down the ride has been established, the assertion reads.
“We are devastated by Tyre’s loss of life. We have listened to the wishes of Tyre’s loved ones and the local community, and have made the final decision to take down the FreeFall,” Ritchie Armstrong, an official with ride operator Orlando Slingshot, explained in the assertion. “In addition, Orlando Slingshot will honor Tyre and his legacy in the classroom and on the soccer field by making a scholarship in his title.”
