Demo of previous Hollywood law enforcement officer accused of slapping handcuffed suspect goes to jury


MIAMI – The trial for former Hollywood Law enforcement officer Matthew Barbieri is now in the fingers of a jury. 

Barbieri is struggling with battery prices after he was caught on digicam hanging a handcuffed suspect.  

In accordance to law enforcement experiences, on August 6th, 2019, officer Barbieri and his associate responded to the Hollywood house for a domestic disturbance.  

The victim, Raymond Schachner, stated he was naked in his bathroom with drugs when law enforcement arrived.  

Barbieri claims when he went inside of, he saw Schachner screaming and performing erratically.  

He claims Schachner then lunged at him as he was making an attempt to protect evidence. That is when prosecutors say surveillance video clip captured Barbieri striking the victim 2 times even while he was handcuffed.  

When other officers arrived on scene, they testified they listened to screaming from inside of the dwelling.

“I could hear him yelling at the topic. It was obvious he was under the influence of a thing. He is not heading to react to yelling.  Most individuals never react to that,” says Ryan Barclay, a Hollywood Law enforcement Officer.
