An heiress to the Sedano’s Supermarkets fortune sold her Pinecrest estate for $13.4 million, The Real Deal has learned.
Magaly Santana and Ernesto Santana sold the 11,500-square-foot mansion at 10101 Southwest 60th Court. Magaly’s late father, Manuel Agustin Herrán, founded the company that now owns more than 30 Hispanic grocery stores in Florida. Ernesto Santana previously owned El Sembrador, the importer and distributor of frozen foods and agricultural products. It’s now owned by Oliva International.
The Santanas’ Pinecrest home has seven bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms. It sits on a 1-acre lot and was on the market for nearly $15 million with Cristina Lujan of Brown Harris Stevens Miami, according to the listing. Lujan declined through a spokesperson to comment.
Roberto Morales of Edmond Roberts LLC represented the buyer. The deed has not yet been recorded, so the buyer’s identity is unknown.
The property sold for $1.7 million in 2006. The house was built in 2011. It includes a pool, half-basketball court, a bar, home theater and an elevator, according to the listing.
Sedano’s has 32 two locations, including two in the Orlando area. Founder Manuel Agustin Herrán died in 2020. The company is run by Magaly’s brother, CEO Agustín “Tino” Herrán. Last year, Tino sold his 7,650-square-foot house at 7725 Atlantic Way for $35.6 million, a record for the Altos del Mar neighborhood of Miami Beach.
Pinecrest is benefitting from the boom in luxury and ultra luxury home sales. In April, NBA player Jeff Green sold his mansion at 9500 Southwest 61st Court for $15.5 million. Cameron Diaz and her husband, Benji Madden, toured Green’s home as they looked at luxury properties in Miami and Miami Beach, according to TMZ.
Last fall, Trevor L. Taylor, who pleaded guilty to securities fraud and related charges, and his wife sold their 20,200-square-foot mansion at 6555 Southwest 102nd Street for $19.5 million, setting a price record in the town.
