Quirch Foods owner sells waterfront Gables mansion for M, former RHOM star, attorney fiancé buy teardown next door

Quirch Foods owner sells waterfront Gables mansion for $47M, former RHOM star, attorney fiancé buy teardown next door

The owner of a major food distribution company sold his waterfront Coral Gables mansion for $47 million, and next door, Miami attorney Anthony Lopez and his fiancée Dr. Nicole Martin bought the waterfront teardown for $15.6 million.

The two deals closed within days of each other for their respective asking prices, signaling the strength of the ultra-luxury home market in South Florida.

In the larger sale, Quirch Foods’ co-owner Guillermo Quirch III and his wife, Lisette, sold the 8,000-square-foot, six-bedroom and nine-bathroom estate at 625 Reinante Avenue in Old Cutler Bay, according to the MLS. A deed for this sale has not yet been recorded, so the buyer is unknown.

Coral Gables-based Quirch is one of the biggest food distributors in the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean. The couple paid $5 million for the waterfront 0.6-acre property, records show. The house was completed in 2022. Dennis Carvajal of One Sotheby’s International Realty represented the sellers. Judy Zeder of Coldwell Banker’s The Jills Zeder Group represented the buyer.

In the second purchase, Lopez and Martin, who previously starred on “Real Housewives of Miami,” bought the property at 641 Reinante Avenue, after flipping their trophy estate at 33 Arvida Parkway for $55 million earlier this month. Lopez said he and Martin plan to build a home that they will live in on the 0.6-acre property. It has 180 feet of water frontage.

Lopez owns Your Insurance Attorney, a Coconut Grove-based firm focused on insurance litigation. Martin is an anesthesiologist and was a cast member on “The Real Housewives of Miami” for three seasons, exiting in 2024.

The couple plan to demolish the 3,400-square-foot home, which was built in 1966. The property last sold for $240,000 in 1977. Records show a trust in Judith Zufi’s name sold the house to Lopez. Jason Smith with Keller Williams Capital Realty had the listing, and Carvajal represented the buyer.

Carvajal also represented Lopez and Martin in their flip of Arvida Parkway mansion for $55 million earlier this month. The sale tied the price record for Coral Gables just eight months after the couple bought the 0.8-acre estate for $34 million. The 12,500-square-foot mansion had eight bedrooms, a gym, a 2,700-bottle wine cellar and 225 feet of waterfront.

Coral Gables is a hotbed of luxury real estate deals. Earlier this month, developer Irving Padron and architect Cesar Molina sold a waterfront spec mansion in the gated Old Cutler Bay community for $36 million. In March, Lauren Sturges, the widow of businessman Charles M. Fernandez, sold her waterfront Tahiti Beach mansion for a record $32 million.

Also in March, Australian billionaire Michael Dorrell sold a 1.7-acre waterfront compound to the spec developer Alex Pirez for $35 million.
