Jenna Bush Hager sat down to interview each of the four former living U.S. presidents: Joe Biden, 83; Barack Obama, 64; Bill Clinton, 79; and her father, George W. Bush, 79.
But only one man gave her a hard time: her father.
Jenna spoke individually with each president at a private event in Philadelphia hosted by the History Channel. The event, named “History Talks,” traditionally features former presidents, and it was done in partnership with Comcast, which owns NBC Universal. This year marks the third time she formally interviewed her father at this event.
“What’s it like interviewing your father?” Sheinelle Jones asked Jenna on the April 20 episode of TODAY With Jenna & Sheinelle.
“I’ve done it a lot,” said Jenna. “He harasses me.”
She went on to explain exactly what happened in their interview.
“He likes to make funny jokes. He then went on to start talking about when I got a ‘minor in possession of alcohol,’ and like, ‘Hey Dad, that’s not what we’re talking about here, bro. Roll it back,'” Jenna said.
As Jenna announced that her full interviews will appear exclusively on TODAY on April 21, an image of George W. Bush appeared onscreen and Sheinelle interjected to say, “God, you guys look just alike, too. I know everybody says it, but dang!”
“Sometimes that’s not a compliment, but I appreciate it,” said Jenna with a sly smile.
“I think it is!” Sheinelle said.
“I think my dad’s handsome, but when people say that, I’m like, ‘I look like a man?'” said Jenna.
“No!” We’re sure it’s you,” Sheinelle added with a shrug, as if to suggest that Jenna’s resemblance to the former president is an absolute confirmation of their family ties.
“OK,” Jenna said, playing along. “My dad is my father.”
