Get ready to have the best of both worlds — again!
On Feb. 17, Miley Cyrus announced that she will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of her breakout show “Hannah Montana” with a television special, “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special.”
“Going back to where it all began,” Cyrus wrote, adding that the special will premiere this March.
In the accompanying clip, a car with the license plate “HM 20” is seen pulling up to Stage 9 at a studio lot while “The Best of Both Worlds” plays in the background. Then a pair of black heeled boots step out of the Mustang.
Just four days before the announcement, Cyrus had shared throwback photos from her Hannah Montana days on Instagram.
“Going through the archives… so many memories 💖 xoMC,” she captioned the slideshow that included her as the pop star, old scripts and a bedazzled jacket.
Additionally, in the press release for the “Hannah Montana” special, the Grammy winner reflected on what the show meant to her.
“’Hannah Montana’ will always be a part of who I am. What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans, and I’ll always be thankful for that connection,” she said. “The fact that it still means so much to people all these years later is something I’m very proud of. This ‘Hannahversary’ is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who’ve stood by me for 20 years.”

When Will the ‘Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special’ Be Released?
The “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special” will premiere March 24 on Disney+.
March 24 is the original date the Disney Channel show premiered in 2006. Starring Cyrus, along with her dad Billy Ray Cyrus, Emily Osment, Jason Earles and Mitchel Musso, “Hannah Montana” ran for four seasons between March 2006 and January 2011.
What Will the ‘Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special’ Be About?
The “Hannah Montana” special will include an intimate interview with Miley Cyrus hosted by Alex Cooper and filmed in front of a live studio audience.
The pair will talk about the creation of the show, her famous character and the lasting impact they have had on fans worldwide.
“With heartfelt nostalgia and fresh perspective, Cyrus will revisit the moments, music and memories that defined an era,” the release states. “Viewers will be treated to never-before-seen archival footage, while some of the most memorable sets from ‘Hannah Montana’ are brought back to life — including the Stewart family living room and the legendary Hannah Montana closet.”
The special also teases “familiar *notes* that find their way back into the spotlight…”
No additional former cast members or special guests have been announced at this time.
Sweet niblets! Miley Cyrus is remembering her iconic role on “Hannah Montana” on the show’s 15th anniversary. The 28-year-old took to Instagram to share a letter written on “Hannah Montana” stationary captioning the post, “Dear @HannahMontana, I still love you 15 years later. #HMForever.” The show’s Instagram account reposted the letter writing, “Nice to hear from you @mileycyrus. It’s only been a decade.”
