'New Year. New Guy. New Look': Guy Fieri debuts his polished transformation

Guy Fieri turned up the heat on his birthday debuting a new look no one expected.

The Food Network star traded in his spiky platinum hair and bold wardrobe for a neatly parted brown hairstyle, a clean‑shaven look and a pair of conservative khakis with a checkered button‑down as he celebrated turning 58.

“New Year. New Guy. New Look,” Fieri wrote on his Jan. 23 Instagram video.

In the video, which featured his AI‑generated makeover, he quipped that after years of celebrating “as Guy,” this time he’d mark his birthday “as just a guy,” fully embracing the makeover.

The “Guy’s Grocery Games” host even updated his profile picture to match the toned‑down style, signaling his commitment to the playful rebrand.

The transformation was so dramatic that many didn’t recognize him at first with some joking he now resembles an insurance salesman, including his son, Hunter.

Hunter, 29, whom Fieri shares with his wife Lori Fieri, teased him in the comments: “Dad… when did you start selling insurance?”

Another user joked, “Wow, I barely recognized him. Bro looks like my car salesman. Happy birthday!!” Meanwhile, someone else admitted, “This makes me uncomfortable in a way I didn’t know was possible.”

Lori has joked that she actually prefers her husband’s AI‑generated makeover to his real‑life style. She’s been honest about missing the clean‑cut man she first met, telling People maganize in 2019, “When I first met [Guy], he had no goatee. He had dark hair. He wore a suit to work every day. Now I look at him and I’m like, ‘Where’s that man I married with the whole clean look?”

As for how his now‑iconic look began, Fieri once told the outlet it happened completely by accident. After telling his hairstylist to do “whatever” she wanted, he was stunned by the result. “I get done and I’m like, ‘You gonna wash that out, that shampoo?’ She goes, ‘No, that’s your hair color.’ I’m like, ‘My what!’”

Even if Lori isn’t the biggest fan of the spiky blond hair and tattoos, she accepts that the edgy style is part of who he is. “I always say, ‘When are you going to change your haircut?’ But it stuck and it’s him,” she said, adding that she teases him occasionally. “And I do want a little change sometimes. But that’s like me changing my hair to black. I mean, I’m not going to do that for him, so.”
