It’s time for Malcolm to return home.
The first trailer for the upcoming “Malcolm in the Middle” revival, “Malcom in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair,” was released on Dec. 29, showing Frankie Muniz reprise his genius, middle-child character from 25 years ago.
“My life is fantastic now,” Malcolm says at the top of the trailer. “All I had to do is stay away from my family.”
It appears Malcolm has done just that as his mom Lois, portrayed by Jane Kaczmarek, says in the next scene that her middle child “has been intentionally hiding himself” from their family for years.
Now with a daughter of his own, Malcolm is forced to head home for a special family celebration.
Bryan Cranston returns as patriarch Hal, while Chris Kennedy Masterson reprises his role as older brother Francis, Justin Berfield returns as brother Reese and Emy Coligado is Francis’ wife Piama.

The revival brings back most of the original cast, aside from former actor Erik Per Sullivan, who portrayed Hal and Lois’ fourth son Dewy. In “Life’s Still Unfair,” Dewy is played by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark.
New cast members include Keeley Karsten (Leah, Malcolm’s daughter), Vaughan Murrae (Kelly, Malcolm’s youngest sibling) and Kiana Madeira (Tristan, Malcolm’s girlfriend).
Earlier this month, a “hairy” teaser was released that paid homage to the first episode where Lois shaves Hal.
