A newly released video shows the moment a car accelerated through a fence and plunged into a lake in Hialeah Gardens on New Year’s Eve. The driver escaped through the window, but the passenger — described as a close friend — was trapped and drowned as the car quickly sank. Police say the driver failed a sobriety test and had slurred speech; charges of DUI manslaughter have been filed.
